Are you prepared for holiday celebrations and shopping? You can get a head start beginning tomorrow!
Baytown’s Christmas parade and first tree lighting at the new Town Square Park are scheduled for the evening of December 3, but you don’t have to wait until then to get into the spirit and enjoy some seasonal festivities.
Holidays in the Hall is happening this Saturday at the Baytown Community Center. This market show presented by Houston Area Shows features many vendors selling unique handmade gifts, but that is not all. Plans include a visit from Santa, Christmas performances, and holiday music with a live DJ. There will even be freebies given away to the first 100 shoppers. Parking and admission are free!
This event location is also officially a gift drop-off donation place for Toys for Tots, so it’s also a great opportunity to do something charitable to help children in need.
The following Saturday, November 14th, the Bay Area Nutcracker Market show will be in Pasadena, complete with strolling Victorian Dickens carolers. And right here in Baytown, Baytown Trade Days is putting on the Holiday Outdoor Market.
Work on Baytown’s new Town Square is also progressing. According to Scott Johnson of Baytown’s Parks and Recreation department, as quoted in the Baytown Sun, construction on the seasonal ice-skating rink will begin on November 18. It will accommodate around 125 people and have dimensions of 60 feet by 80 feet. Starting December 3, it will be open from 6-10 all week and cost $10 per person to skate.
Before the rink is installed, the 25-foot tiered fountain will be converted to a Christmas tree at its center. All of this may be installed and visible on Texas Avenue by around the end of November, and enjoyed at our other upcoming holiday events.
Cheers!
